Available Options When Looking For LPN Work
January 29th, 2010There are all sorts of places that you can find LPN work nowadays. It used to be that the LPN role, also known as the Licensed Practical Nurse role, was found predominantly in hospitals and care homes, but with the spread of healthcare settings into the community in recent years there has been a widespread increase in the number of settings that offer LPN work.
You can find LPN roles in community healthcare centres, physicians surgeries and even in the home. The reason for this is that the required qualifications for becoming an LPN are less stringent than those of becoming an RN. This has meant that there are more candidates able to enter the nursing profession and as a result employers have found a way to fulfil many of their nursing needs with LPN’s.
This is good news as otherwise there may well have been a significant shortfall in the ability of our country to train sufficient candidates to fill the demand for nurses across the board, and where nurses are scarce the quality of healthcare outcomes invariably falls. So, if you are thinking of a new career then looking for LPN work may well be a great option for you to consider.
